History of NCC
The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. It was raised on 15th July, 1948. The National Cadet Corps can be considered as a successor of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) was established by the British in 1942.
The 8 MAH.BN.NCC is established in 1949 at premises of our Institution. The NCC Troop of Government Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities, (GVISH) comes under the purview of 8 MAH. BN. NCC Amravati. This Troop comes under Army Wing. The troop has strength of 83 (Senior Division (Boys) & Senior Wing (Girls) NCC.

The NCC aims at developing character qualities amongst cadets to nurture them as good leaders and useful citizens so that they can take their appropriate place in all walks of life in the service of the nation. Qualities such as…
