Philosophy
Welcome to the Department of Philosophy
A good education institute consists of a stimulating learning environment- where students feel welcomed and cared for; a wide range of learning experiences and good infrastructure with appropriate resources, essential for learning, are available to all students. Attaining these qualities must be the goal of every educational institute.
The institute GEM college; named after George Edward, was established in the year 1923 with the intermediate course in philosophy. To keep pace with the higher education in philosophy, the Graduation & Post Graduation program is working since 1956.
The qualified faculties are to assist the student in orienting the research mindset. & to develop good human beings capable of rational thought and action, possessing compassion and empathy, courage and resilience, scientific temper and creative imagination, with sound ethical values. The syllabus of Graduation program covers classical Indian as well as western philosophy whereas Post Graduation program covers contemporary western as well as continental philosophy.
During the session the faculty of Philosophy offers a monthly classroom seminars that allows members of the faculty and students to discuss on the topic.

- The faculty of Philosophy is to initiate the logical reasoning program for students to cope up with the carrier advancement examinations.
